Corporate filing & brokerage license oversight

Secretary of State filings. Franchise taxes. Annual reports. Who’s making sure they’re handled?

Your legal team, accounting department, and registered agent may each handle part of the work. License Link provides a coordinated review of deadlines, filing confirmations, and state records—so you know what’s complete, what’s outstanding, and who’s responsible.

One view across departments and providers.

Corporate filing and brokerage license oversight connects work that is often tracked in separate places: Secretary of State registrations, annual or periodic reports, franchise-tax follow-up, registered agent details, and brokerage license records.

License Link brings the agreed obligations into a shared record with a responsible contact, a deadline, supporting evidence, and a last-checked date. Your company can keep its existing registered agent and advisers.

Start with a review. Build a monitoring plan.

Initial review

Establish the entities and states in scope. Check available records, gather filing evidence, and identify items that need follow-up.

You receive: a state-by-state findings report with confirmed facts, open questions, and next steps.

Ongoing monitoring

Track agreed deadlines, review official records on the agreed schedule, and follow up on filing and payment confirmations.

You receive: status reporting, reminders, and discrepancies assigned to a responsible contact.

Correction support

Coordinate agreed corrections with your team and providers, then check the resulting evidence and records.

You receive: documented follow-through. Correction work and government or provider fees are scoped separately.

What belongs in the review?

  • Secretary of State registrations: entity identity, recorded status, registrations in scope, and available filing history.
  • Annual and periodic reports: applicable deadlines, filing owner, and evidence of acceptance.
  • Franchise taxes and related reports: coordination with your accountant on applicable obligations and evidence of completion.
  • Registered agent details: recorded contact information, notice routing, and clarity about contracted filing services.
  • Brokerage license records: a separate check of the licenses and supervising broker details included in the engagement.

A status report should tell you what was verified.

For each item in scope, the record should identify the entity, state, obligation, due date, responsible contact, evidence, last verification date, and next action. A reminder sent or an invoice paid is different from a filing accepted.

Tax calculations and return preparation remain with your tax adviser. Legal questions and any effect on licensed operations are reviewed with the appropriate adviser or regulator. The engagement sets the review schedule and services included.

Read the guide: who is checking your corporate filings?

Questions about corporate filing oversight.

Can License Link help if we already have a registered agent?

Yes. We can review agreed corporate records and filing obligations alongside your existing registered agent, legal team, and accounting department. The engagement defines who submits each filing and who verifies completion.

What is included in a state-by-state review?

For the entities and states in scope, we review available Secretary of State records, identify applicable corporate reporting and franchise-tax follow-up with your advisers, and review brokerage license records separately. You receive verified findings, outstanding questions, and assigned next steps.

Does monitoring include filing reports or preparing franchise tax returns?

Monitoring, filing coordination, and correction work are separately defined in the engagement. Your tax adviser determines tax obligations, calculations, returns, and payment amounts. License Link can track agreed deadlines and follow up on evidence of filing or payment.

How often does License Link check the records?

The review schedule, deadline reminders, sources, and escalation contacts are agreed before monitoring begins. Each status entry records when it was checked; an unavailable or inconclusive record remains an open item.

What happens when a discrepancy is found?

We record the discrepancy, identify the responsible contact, and coordinate agreed follow-up with your team, registered agent, accountant, or counsel. Completion is supported by the appropriate acceptance, receipt, or official record, rather than an assumption that an assigned task was finished.
